Our Approach
ROF59
The design for this wall provided over 580 square metres of high quality climbing wall using our Mozaïk coated ood panel system. The wall has approximately 17 independent climbing lines.
ROF59 (Royal Ordnance Factory 59) was built in the early 1940’s and was designed to produce bullets, shells and mines for the war. More than 17,000 people (mainly women) were employed and they risked their lives daily to manufacture bombs.
Our design makes the best use of the space available, maximises visual impact and appeals to a broad range of user groups and abilities of climber. The centre provides a venue that is suitable for competitions, individual personal training, group use and has provided the existing climbing community with an excellent facility.
